Lunar Eclipse over Lake Tahoe...

I got up early this morning and headed over to the Sand Harbor area along Lake Tahoe's east shore hoping to shoot the total lunar eclipse as it was setting over the mountains. The conditions were okay but as the light came up and the moon got lower to the horizon, (the shot I wanted) the moon disappeared behind some low lying clouds.

Oh well...maybe next time!

Fog and Frost...

Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley has been in a perpetual state of ice fog for the last week or so. It was a great time for our furnace to give out! (now fixed and the house is warm again - yeah!)

Although rather cold and dreary, this type of weather can make for some interesting photography as well. I ventured out and found a frosty world of interesting subjects in the subdued light. Here are some images from around the area...

The dry grass was weighted down by the hoar frost...

Thistle in the morning frost...

Old barn and Alders...

Top of the Hill...

Remember, some of the best light happens at "the edge" of weather so don't hesitate to head out to explore even when the conditions are not that great. You never know what you might find...

New Canvas Print Options!

Hello Everyone...

With the popularity of canvas prints, I wanted to let you know that I will now be offering more canvas options for all images. Through a new partnership with a custom canvas lab on the East Coast, I am now able to offer several types of new canvas products, including canvas wraps, framed canvas prints, rolled canvas, splits and collages in sizes up to 55" x 100" - that's HUGE! Here is more information:

What are gallery wrapped canvases?

  • They are high quality prints on artist’s canvas.
  • The canvas is stretched over custom-made wood stretcher bars.
  • They are available in any size with a depth of .75", 1.5" or 2.5".
What's so cool about gallery wrapped canvases?

  • Canvases make a bold statement.
  • They appear to float on your wall.
  • They don't need a frame; the structure is inside the art.
  • If you want a frame though, several types are available.
  • They are AFFORDABLE!

I will be updating the site over the next couple of months and will add the various options to the pricing matrix located on my "Ordering" page as well as the bottom of the individual gallery image pages.

In the meantime, if YOU would like a custom canvas print, just drop me a note via the "Contact" form on the site and I will work with you for pricing and other options.

Take care all...

Bill
