Equipment Purchase - Logan 650 Mat Cutter...

I recently purchased a Logan, "Framer's Edge, 650" mat cutter. This is a great tool for making custom mats for my photographs. It really helps when you come across an odd size and the price tag for a custom cut mat kills the deal.

Bluebird Day in Tahoe...

We received several feet of snow this week from a late season storm. This is great news for our area as we deal with the effects of several below average winters over the last few years. This time, we are well above average and it keeps coming...

Another benefit of the fresh snow is that it makes for some great photographic opportunities...

"Whale of a Tale"

I wrote a brief article that appears in the "Notes from the field" section on the Photography Website, "F-8 and Be There" belonging to accomplished photographer and friend, Steve Kossack. You can read it here...

Whale of a Tale

While there, be sure to check out his available photography workshops. Steve's workshops visit many of the western United State's best known locations including Sedona, Yosemite, Monument Valley, Coyote Buttes, The Colorado Plateau, Antelope Canyon, Death Valley and the Grand Canyon. His concentration is FIELD WORKSHOPS - working in the field from before dawn to after dusk.

Bear Valley Wildflowers...

My good friend John Musaus and I headed to Bear Valley, a well known northern California wildflower hot-spot. It is located off of Hwy 20, east of Clear Lake. We were a bit early in the season but hoped to be able to shoot some pictures.

As it turns out, we WERE a bit early but still treated to some patches of wildflowers and some fauna.

Public Displays...

As part of "North Tahoe Arts", I participate in the "Art in Public Places" program. Today, I hung ten (10) photographs for display in the Kings Beach Library, 301 Secline Street, Kings Beach, California. They will be on display until May 31st, 2005.

Also, as part of the program, I hung one large piece at the Truckee Library, 10031 Levon Street, Truckee, California. This will also be on display until the end of May.

If you get the chance, please stop by and take a look at either location!
