Skunked...Again!!

I drove to Yosemite this week to shoot Horsetail Falls for the annual firefall effect that occurs at the end of February. You might remember last year, I did the same thing! As was the case last year, I was joined by my good friends and excellent photographers, John Musaus and Jim Faria.

Jim and I set up near Sentinel Beach and John went to the north side, near the picnic area, another popular viewpoint. I had shot from here back in 2006 as well. We got set up in our chosen spots in the company of about 50 other photographers.

Unfortunately, the beautiful day slowly turned into a cloudy one and as we got closer to sunset, the fog and low clouds continued to build. There were a couple of moments of warmer light but as we got close to the magic moment, the low clouds obscured any hope of a firefall shot on this evening.

The weather for the next day did not look any better so once again, I went home without the shot I wanted in the can.

Here is a fun little video of the festivities...

Take care all...here's to better light!
