San Francisco Photo Tour...the Aftermath!

The Photo Tour was a success! Even though Mother Nature tried to play tricks on us by bringing on pea-soup thick fog, we managed to find other spots and persevere. We were able to visit The Presidio, The Embarcadero, as well as the Palace of Fine Arts and managed to find photographic opportunities at each. We even managed to fit in dinner at a famous San Francisco watering hole, Liverpool Lil's!

Here are some of the fruits of our labors...

The San Francisco National Cemetery at The Presidio...

The Bay Bridge from the Embarcadero...

The Port of San Francisco...

The city traffic never stops...

The Palace of Fine Arts...

Stay tuned for more photographic opportunities coming up soon. J. Gunther and I are planning to start offering guided photographic workshops later this year, starting with a fall colors event in the Eastern Sierra.

Take care all and here's to good light...

Mt. Shasta Lavender Farms - Second Shoot

Nana and I were graciously invited back to the Mt. Shasta Lavender Farms for another sunset photo shoot as the lavender came into further bloom. We were blessed with a more visible Mt. Shasta and wonderful post sunset light.

Here are some shots...

The post-sunset light was beautiful!

Thanks to our hosts David and Gail for allowing us back...

San Francisco Photo Tour - Date Set!

The San Francisco Photo Tour date has been set - Saturday, July 16th, starting at 4pm. This "tour" will be guided by myself & good friend and noted photographer J. Gunther. We are planning on visiting several San Francisco photographic landmarks during the later afternoon and evening. We expect to be out shooting for 4-6 hours. (You do not have to stay with us all evening - shoot what you want and you are free to leave!)

Everyone is welcome regardless of photographic experience. You are required to provide your own camera and a sturdy tripod. There is no cost except all travel, meals and misc. expenses will be up to you. John and I will provide tips, hints & techniques and get you to the spot to get your photos.

Please let me know if you would like to join us. The plan is to meet at the parking lot of "The Sports Basement", 610 Mason Street, opposite Crissy Field along San Francisco's waterfront at 4pm. Look for J. Gunther's big red Dodge truck in the parking lot. We will figure out logistics depending on how many folks show up. We will probably jump into as few vehicles as possible and head out for our shoot.

Depending on weather (gotta love SF's summer fog) we hope to shoot the Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach, Ghirardelli Square, Aquatic Park, Coit Tower, the Transamerica Pyramid, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Bay Bridge from the Embarcadero and possibly the San Francisco skyline from Treasure Island after dark. We are flexible and will add or subtract spots based on the desires of the participants, the weather, the traffic, the time, etc.

So - we would love to have you join us for this unique experience. Please E-Mail me if you would like to join us so we can get a head count beforehand. We look forward to seeing you on July 16th!
