Sahalie Falls...

Nana and I went to Bend to visit some friends and on the way home, drove through the McKenzie River area. We stopped at Sahalie Falls and although the harsh daylight conditions were not the best, I thought I would give HDR a shot to balance out the wide dynamic range present. Here are the results...

Even though the lighting was not the best, HDR allowed me to make useable photographs. Don't be afraid to try new techniques...

Till next time...

Redwoods National Park Workshop has wrapped!

We have wrapped our Redwoods National Park Workshop. A big thanks to our great photographers (and all repeat clients) David B., David K. and Jerry H. for joining us on this trip. We visited many locations, both wooded & coastal and had all kinds of weather to contend with. We did not always have Mother Nature's full cooperation but we still had some good conditions for interesting and challenging photography. That's what it's all about anyway - stretching our comfort zones and learning how to deal with all kinds of lighting situations. Along the way, we saw Whales, Elk, Eagles, Ospreys, Deer, Seals and numerous sea birds.

Here are some of the fruits of our labors...

Sunset, Whaleshead Beach, Oregon

Post sunset light at Trinidad Beach...

Jerry and David B. - thanks for driving everyone around too!

Until next time...
