Bodie State Park...

I had the opportunity to visit Bodie State Park again this last weekend. I was in the central Sierra re-supplying my wife and her girlfriends on their annual backpacking trip. We had a layover day in Bridgeport and everyone decided to head to Bodie.

Since I have been there several times in the past, I decided to work this trip with only one lens - my 100mm, F/2.8 Macro. This lens is very sharp and besides being great for close-ups, it makes a wonderful medium length telephoto as well as a nice portrait lens. I was able to take some nice photos of the wife and her friends as well as some more intimate shots around the park. I also decided that Bodie demands black and white at times and that's how I approached this shoot. Here are a few of the shots...

Zinc Dust...who knows what it was used for.

Nice ride in the day...

Someone get a horse to pull this thing...

Love all those window panes...

Anyway, it was a fun day and the ladies hit the trail again the next morning. To keep up with their adventure, check out their online journal at the following URL:

Take care all and here's to good light!
