Klamath National Wildlife Refuge...

I had the opportunity to visit the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges along the Oregon - California border today. The Klamath Basin area is home to the largest population of Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states during the winter months. These eagles feast on the literally millions of migrating birds that pass through this area on the Pacific Flyway each year.

Upon arriving in the area, I saw literally dozens of eagles in trees on the refuge. Unfortunately, most were too far away to successfully photograph. I was able to get closer to a couple though and managed to capture some frames.



As it got nearer to sunset, several Tundra Swans arrived providing an opportunity for some silhouette shots...



On the way back to the Ashland area, I was witness to a beautiful sunset along the Klamath River...

New Website - Migration Plan...

Hello All...

Over the next year, I will be migrating my photography business website to a new domain:

billlangton.com

I have found that trying to explain the "photography.blangton.com" address is confusing to some who expect a "WWW" in there somewhere. Also in the implementation of the old site, there were hidden frames that create problems for some users and search engines. So, to make things easier, I have registered the new domain and have moved my site over. The old site will point to the new one so the change will be transparent to most everyone.

Also, I will be adding E-Mail addresses with the new domain. I will keep all my old ones as well so there should be no problem in reaching me either way. For information, here is the new one!

I have also updated the site with pricing for the Gallery Wraps being added to the individual photo pages and the order forms. Look for some new images in the gallery soon!

Emerald Bay Moonrise...

I had the opportunity last weekend to photograph the full moon rising over beautiful Emerald Bay on Lake Tahoe's south west shore. I was with fellow nature photographer, John Musaus.



The earth's shadow created some wonderful colors in the sky which were reflected perfectly in the waters below.

Unfortunately, controlled burns in the basin created some hazy conditions over the lake...
