Annular Solar Eclipse...

Fortunately for me, Ashland, Oregon was right on the path for the Annular Solar Eclipse visible in many parts of the world on May 20th, 2012. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't fully cooperate. As we neared the time of the event, high, thin clouds partially obscured the viewing opportunities. But, as the clouds came and went, I was able to take some photographs...

As we approached full "circle of fire" status...

I shot these with my Canon EOS 1D, Mk III using 9 stops of graduated neutral density filters and underexposing 3 additional stops...
